holiday-shopping-tipsIs shopping at the mall, including the exercise? A research conducted by the manufacturer of ice cream, Skinny Cow, agreed that question. Women who frequently shop can be burned about 48 000 calories per year just by doing the shopping activity.

As reported the Daily Mail, walking around big stores can help a woman an average-sized body to burn about 5 calories per minute. If the total, then the calories burned can reach about 47 700 calories per year. This figure is equivalent to the amount of food consumed in a month.

The study was based on the average number of women shopping in a year as many as 132 times, which is equivalent to 159 hours and 56 minutes by brisk walking. Studies involving 3000 women also showed that about 52 percent of respondents reported they felt more tired after the around the mall rather than after practicing at the gym.
